Working principle of EDI electrodeionization ultrapure water treatment system: It is a new technology for preparing ultrapure water (high purity water) which organically combines electrodialysis membrane separation technology and ion exchange technology. Electrochemical regeneration of the ion exchange resin filled in the fresh water chamber is carried out. The EDI membrane stack is mainly composed of alternately arranged cation exchange membranes, concentrated water compartments, anion exchange membranes, fresh water compartments and positive and negative electrodes. Under the action of the DC electric field, the cations and anions in the ion exchange resin in the fresh water chamber migrate to the negative electrode and the positive electrode along the channel formed by the resin and the membrane, respectively. The water chamber forms concentrated water. At the same time, the cations and anions in the EDI influent are exchanged with the hydrogen ions and hydroxide ions in the ion exchange resin to form ultrapure water (high purity water). The ultra-limit current enables the continuous regeneration of the ion exchange resin by a large number of hydrogen ions and hydroxide ions generated by water electrolysis. In traditional ion exchange, chemical intermittent regeneration is required after the ion exchange resin is saturated. The resin in the EDI membrane stack is continuously regenerated by electrolysis of water, and the work is continuous, and no acid-base chemical regeneration is required.
